Standing Stone Coffee Grants

SSCC Community Development Grants Summary:

This grant is designed for Huntingdon County community members (including residents, high school, and college students) who are working on or are launching community development projects in Huntingdon County that align with Standing Stone Coffee Company’s Vision of Community.

SSCC’s Vision of Community:

SSCC sees the potential of a community who cares for and knows their neighbor, stewards the environment, has an integrated education system including higher educational opportunities, flourishes through the arts, celebrates life through creative and quality food, play, work and rest, and is aware of global issues and participates in the global community.

SSCC seeks to invest in efforts of lasting, long-term transformation in the community. These may come in the form of established programs and/or may be a fresh idea from someone in our community looking to make a difference. We want to honor that ingenuity and desire for change. We also seek to invest in community development efforts that are faith-based or not, knowing that all good things come from God and that God’s desire is for the restoration of all things, the whole person and the whole community.

Requirements for grant approval:

  • New—A new project or new phase of a current project that has been active for less than a year. We encourage existing organizations to apply, but ask that the grant be used as stimulus for new initiatives.
  • Local—Project is intended for Huntingdon County.

For 2024 there are five $500 grants available.

A committee from SSCC will review all applications and determine grant recipients based on criteria above.  If the need for the project is less than $500, please state that.  The remaining balance could be applied to other projects.

All grant recipients will be expected to report on their projects’ progress within five to six months after grant distribution.

All allocated funds must be collected and applied to the project no later than 12 months after grant announcement.

Applications are ongoing, beginning on the 1st of January, and will continue until all funds are awarded for the calendar year.
